Welcome to Hopkinton New Hampshire’s Conservation Land and Trails Website
Hopkinton, New Hampshire, owns 24 properties, totaling 1,305 acres, that are protected as town forests, recreation areas and open space properties. In addition, the town secured a conservation easement and developed trails and a canoe access on the 400-acre Bohanan Farm. Other conservation properties, owned by non-profit organizations and governmental agencies, are available for public use.
Some of the properties described in this website have parking as well as hiking trails, biking trails, access for canoeing and kayaking, and/or cross country skiing trails, while others are reserved for wildlife and timber management.
Unless specifically noted, hiking trails are available for non-motorized use including walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and mountain biking. A few trails, including the Hopkinton Village Greenway, have sections that include Class VI roads (old town roads that are no longer maintained by the town but remain open to public use as rights-of-way). Horses are permitted on Class VI roads. The Hopkinton Conservation Commission appreciates careful usage by horse owners on Class VI roads during wet or snowy seasons to avoid erosion damage. We appreciate your cooperation.
We would appreciate your help in maintaining the trails by letting us know if there are any issues with the trails that need work. Please click here and complete the form with specific information.
Please use this website to explore these conservation lands and learn more about the work we do, and then get out and visit these properties! The members of the Conservation Commission and Open Space Committee hope you enjoy the beauty and natural resources available to all of us here in Hopkinton.
